This is my second recycler, lost my old one in Hurricane Sandy, being under salt water was no match. Out of the box the setup was simple and it started on the first pull!

I love my Toro! I've had it for nearly a year and it consistently starts on one pull. As a new homeowner, I was worried I'd need to do a lot of maintenance, but other than gas and checking the oil, it just 'goes'.
I am so glad my father recommended to get self-propelled as I am amazed at how tough it is to get up hills without it. When I want a workout, I ease off the handle, when I want an assist from the self propelled wheels I got it.
I've used it both with bag and mulching. Both work well. You will get dirty, but it is mowing the lawn after all.

Rated 5 out of 5??by FunLovingJohn Excellent lawnmower my second Toro and better than the first
Selected based on Consumer Reports reviews. Had to replace my first Toro after over 15 years of dependable service. Selected a similar model (the one with auto start), but could not find in stock. So purchased this one and it works great.

Rated 1 out of 5??by Parkerd Bad bad engineering
Not adequate mulcher. The decktoo low, blade too close to sides. Unless cutting 1/4 in grass it will clog, need manual clearing. Cannot clear itself, it will keep laboring until you shut down turn over pull grass out. it will keep big lump inside. If cutting & stop it drops load. If walk mower 3 miles down concrete would not clear until you stop, then drop load of grass. bagger is joke. the angle allows only 1/2 full, then clog After 1 wk bag notch broke.1 months rear guard in shreds. 2 months spring on handle broke. Starting takes a gash out of your knuckle. Designed to require pull cord at outward angle. If not you catch a finger on the sharp plastic. It does always start on first or second pull when first starting a cold engine. After that, 6,7,8 pulls or maybe not. Sometimes it needs a 15 min break before starting. In shop 3x in less than yr. Entire top fell off-all three retaining bolts "vibrated" out. Mechanic said "happens all the time -try some loctite.

Rated 5 out of 5??by PorscheBoy2 Great Mower Despite Earlier Hard Starting Problem
Great mower that exceeded my expectations.
IMPORTANT: Have noticed feedback from others related to mowers that are hard to start. This is an exception and is most likely due to a bad thermostat. I used to wash mine after every cutting using a garden hose and lots of water. In time, mine became very hard to start requiring up to 15 pulls of the cord to start. After removing the shroud, and engine cover, etc. found the thermostat had frozen up (note: thermostat is integral to the proper functioning of the automatic choke feature). This was probably due to corrosion as a result of all the water used during washings. I obtained a replacement for $20 at a Briggs & Stratton dealer and replaced it in less than 30 min. Unit has started religiously in 1 to 2 pulls of the cord since replacing thermostat. I no longer wash my mower. note: Thermostat is found just above the muffler under the engine shroud and is bolted into place with a flange that fits between the muffler and the engine block.
